The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has charged the public to immediately inform the security and local authorities of unusual scenes and behaviours of people they encounter, to forestall attacks by terrorists.

Speaking on the Anopa Bofoↄ morning show hosted on Angel FM by Kofi Adoma Nwanwani, Mr. Oppong Nkrumah advised that the threats of attack from the militants who have destabilized neighbouring regions in Africa must not be treated as trivial.

According to him, intelligence gathered indicates that the terrorists have targeted countries which are natural resources endowed, for which reason Ghana is taking proactive steps to protect the nation.

“They are seeking to invade countries which are bordered by sea and have mineral resources, and whose laws are a little laxed”, said Mr. Oppong Nkrumah who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Ofuasi Ayirebi in the Eastern Region.

“So, when you see something which seem contrary to the usual practices, hint the local authorities including the security agencies or state agency offices near you.”

Meanwhile he has assured the public that the security would not be misled by the pranks or misinformation of unscrupulous persons because the intelligence agencies would always conduct “intelligence analysis” into every report that reaches their desks for action.
