The Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Benito Owusu Bio has assured that documents with regard to the Achimota Forest are safe.

This comes after the Ghana News Agency reported that hundreds of documents, computers, and scanners at the Head Office of the Lands Commission in Cantonments, Accra, have been destroyed by floodwaters.

But Mr. Owusu Bio in an interview with journalists said that every document on the forest reserve is intact.

“Nothing here can be linked to Achimota or whatever forest but then all files and documents are intact, they have been saved.”

He also told the media that each document has a backup in soft copy.

“Every document here too, there is a soft copy of it”, he assured the public of the safety of documents on the Achimota Forest.

The Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources added that in the event that something untoward occurs, the ministry “can reprint replacement documents so that they can be used.”
