Fashion school, RIOHs Originate rebrands to RIOHS College of Design

Prominent fashion school RIOHs Originate has announced the rebrand of its foundational fashion design and illustration institution.

Riohs Originate, is now the Riohs College of Design with the tagline “Create. Make radiance.” on the new value proposition; Unearthing potential, making seasoned professionals.

Over the last decade, the institution has existed with the aim of glowing talents. Our rebrand is closely aligned with our ultimate goal of becoming the leading institution in fashion and creative design training in Africa.

The College will be offering a wider range of Creative design courses in Photography, Graphic Design, Digital Fashion, Creative Thinking, Concept Development, Branding and Pattern Making.

Fashion Design (Clothing & Construction) and many more.

“In this new phase, we will continue to identify and nurture fresh potential and prove over and over again that one can learn how to think creatively to attain a concept, sketch and design, create patterns, design and sew a collection in 6 months,” an official communication said.

The institute offers morning, evening and weekend options with practical guidance.

“Our training transforms students into conscious smarter decision makers with an eye on the sustainability of the fashion industry.”

Many of its global alumni have gone on to create well acknowledged brands, such as Naddia Ibrahim,ZaQi Africa, Elikem the Tailor, Royalty by Nanasie, Gallant Belle, Maud by Dianne, Avonsige, Sera Ban, Cosma gh, Mayase gh, kojo Boadi Ghana, Sara the Dress Maker, and a host of other creative minds taking on the global fashion space.

Beyond creating and sustaining an industry of fashion entrepreneurs, Riohs alumna are working as professional pattern makers, sketch and digital illustrators, fashion designers and atelier managers. Some have even been honoured in Vogue such as the wildly successful – Ajabeng.

Riohs alumni have graced International Fashion Weeks like; London Fashion Week, Denmark Fashion Week, Arise Fashion Week Lagos, Durban Fashion Week, Glitz Africa Fashion Week, Accra Fashion Week, and Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

The Riohs College of Design is a creative design service and training college in the city of Accra, Ghana that was birthed in 2010 with only 3 students. Since then, it has gone on to graduate more than 1,500 students across Africa and globally, who come to its Dzorwulu campus for the 6-month program.

RIOHS is the pioneer and creator of the 6-month program in Fashion Design and Fashion Illustration in Ghana. The course was designed to offer practical instruction through learning by doing. Riohs offers a functional fully serviced atelier that serves as the center of its campus.
