A 32-year-old man identified as Dominic Kwame Ofori, popularly known as ‘Koliko’, has met his untimely death after being stabbed multiple times by a friend.

The deceased was stabbed several times in the stomach by his friend Kofi Kwakye alias ‘Tompoo’, who accused the former [Dominic] of snatching his lover.

The incident occurred around 5:00 pm on Sunday, May 29, in Akyem Achiase in the Achiase District of the Eastern Region.

According to eyewitness reports, both the victim and the ‘killer’ were engaged in a heated argument which broke into a fight at a ‘wee-smoking ghetto’.

Mr. John Bamfo Amoah, who got to the scene immediately the incident happened, told the media that both friends already fought each other at a galamsey site some time ago on the claim that the deceased [Dominic] is going out with his girlfriend.

“I was in front of my house when I heard someone say ‘my killer has come and he’s the only man in town’. Barely three minutes later, some children started saying someone has been stabbed to death. The boy [Domic Ofori] was lying in a pool of blood. He was stabbed in the stomach, the chest, his side and slashed in the back with his intestines gushing out”, he narrated.

According to Bamfo Amoah, “Tompoo” the killer already had the kitchen knife concealed on him and immediately the fight began, he pulled it out and stabbed his friend “Koliko” and ran away after realizing that Koliko was dead.

But Kofi Kwakye’s wife has been arrested by Achiase police when they got information that she was meeting his husband to give him his bag to flee.

A source who spoke to the media expressed much worry about the frustration many people in Akyem Achiase are going through in the hands of “weed smokers” in the community while the authorities do nothing about it.
