Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, has admonished Ghanaians to assist the security agencies more to prevent the threat of terrorism in the country.

According to the leader of the National Democratic Party (NDP), terrorism is a threat to global peace therefore all efforts must be employed to curtail it and make the country safer.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, she said, “Everybody must be interested in our collective security as a nation. It’s not only the leadership of the country that should be interested in whether thieves are coming or Boko Haram is coming in.”

She added that transitional crimes have been on the rise and must be treated with security consciousness to avoid the country being taken over.

“If we don’t open our eyes they will take over the country with their bad habits. So, wherever you are please don’t follow the crowd when they say police is troubling; the police is there to serve you. So let us try to work with these institutions when we can.”

“We should all be interested because if you don’t take an interest in it, you will be overcome by events. I believe that the terrain of Ghana is so quiet that our neighbors think that we need a little bit of shakeup” Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings advised.
