Workaholic left back of Accra Hearts of Oak, Denis Korsah, has been given a late call-up to the Black Stars camp ahead of the country’s second AFCON qualifier game against the Central Africa Republic.

The left-back who was initially not part of Coach Otto Addo’s 33-man squad has been called to join the team ahead of the clash on Sunday, June 5, 2022.

He will also travel with the team to Japan for the four-nation Kirin Cup.

This means the former Ebusua Dwarfs defender has earned his second national team call-up following his maiden invitation in March 2022 during Ghana’s play-off against Nigeria.

The Black Stars commenced their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a commanding 3-0 win over Madagascar at the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday night.

Thanks to Mohammed Kudus, Felix Afena-Gyan, and Osman Bukari’s second-half goals, which helped put the team on top of the Group E table; ahead of Angola, Madagascar, and the Central African Republic.

The Central African Republic will lock horns with the four-time African Champions on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Luanda in Angola due to the failure of their stadia to meet FIFA and CAF standards.
