The National Democratic Congress activist, Dela Coffie, has been arrested on Monday, June 6, 2022, days after he was declared wanted by the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

His arrest followed after he turned himself in at the office of the SP.

Dela Coffie has been charged for an alleged “forgery of official document.”

But an official notice issued by the OSP on Monday said Coffie availed himself with his lawyer in his company.

It could be recalled that the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, in a notice on Friday, June 3, 2022, secured “a warrant of arrest” for Mr. Coffie also for “corruption and corruption-related offenses.”

However reacting to the development, Dela Coffie said he is ready and would turned in himself because he has no place to hide.

“I want to state that I am available right here in Ghana and will submit myself to any queries of law enforcement agencies as I have nothing to hide

“My understanding is that the special prosecutor is linking me to a petitioner, who has lodged a petition before his office against former Minister Atta Akyea” he stated in a context to his declaration.
