The two victims of the Wa flogging following a leaked video of their sexual activities have said they are still suffering from the events of last week.

According to the lady captured in the sex tape, she has left home to avoid public shame and name-calling since the incident.

Family members have explained that they do not know her whereabouts.

A spokesperson of the family stated that her mother has been trying to reach her via phone but to no avail.

In an interview with Accra-based TV3, she narrated that prior to the flogging at the Wa Naa’s Palace, she was beaten by the young men who ‘arrested’ her.

“I was flogged twenty times. I was severely injured and left alone. I had to go to the hospital with a friend who bore the cost of treatment which was between GH¢500 and GH¢600; with the promise of paying back later.”

The victimised lady also expressed worry that she cannot return to work for fear of stigmatization.

“I don’t want to go home, I am safe in this hideout. I cannot also go back to the bus terminal where I used to work, because of stigma.”

Meanwhile, the Assembly member for the Sokpayiri Electoral Area Adams Abubakari, who speaks on behalf of the family,  has disclosed that the lady has a mental health condition since childhood.

“As long as we get her, we would take her to the Social Welfare office for the medical care. She has been battling mental health related challenges for many many years.”

The male victim who was also captured in the sex tape has expressed fears of losing his eye.

He indicated that he was kicked in the head which he suspects is the cause of his blury vision.

“Ever since the incident happened, one of my brothers who is also working at the social welfare came here. Then they took me to the hospital for general body screening. Then after the screening, it was just some bursts and pains and bruises that were on my body.”

“But it was my eye that was affected. Because that one, it was kicked by someone with the foot. So when it gets to a certain level, when I go out it becomes blur and tears begin to come out”, he lamented.
