A special Aide to Togbe Afede XIV, Dr Elikplim Kwabla Apetorgbor, has debunked claims from host of Good Evening Ghana, Paul Adom-Otchere, following the chief’s rejection of GHc365,392.67 ex-gratia paid him for serving on the Council of State.

Mr Adom-Otchere, on his show on Tuesday, June 7, made claims that Togbe Afede XIV attended 39 out of the 242 meetings the Council of State held.

He is also reportedly claimed that Togbe Afede XIV received a car loan and travel allowances (for travels from Ho while staying in Accra) among others.

But reacting to the allegations, Dr Elikplim Kwabla Apetorgbor said: “I consider it a waste of intellectual resource and tongue, for the respected wise King, Togbe Afede XIV, to respond to unethical and ignorant Paul Adom Otchere and his promoters, who put their stomachs ahead of everything.”

He also denied the allegation that the Chief of Asogli State received traveling allowances as claimed.

“Togbe Afede XIV, during his time on the Council of State has never received any traveling allowance from Ho.”

In his opinion, Togbe respects himself and would not bring himself to that low and cheap level.

Responding to the issues surrounding the car loan, Togbe Afede’s aide said the car loan Togbe subscribed to when he served on the Council of State was an optional offer by SG-Bank and never a loan from the Government of Ghana. Meanwhile, he has paid his loan.

“Most importantly, he was the Chairman of the Economic Committee of the Council of State and was one of the most committed and regular members of the Council of State meetings. The minutes of the meeting attendance are available for verification”, said a statement from the aide.

“I urged the good people of Ghana to expose evil and corruption in other to rescue the nation and its resources from further decadence.”

Meanwhile the Asogli State Council in a separate release has described Paul Adom Otchere’s claims as lies and further challenged him to provide evidence to back his allegations.
