The Member of Parliament for the people of Ningo Prampram, Samuel Nartey George has taken a swipe at the US embassy in Ghana for accusing the West Africa Country of violence against Lesbians Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI+) persons.

The US embassy in Ghana in a tweet on Monday, June 27 2022, vowed their readiness to end violence meted out against the LGBTQI+ activists.

“The U.S. is committed to ending violence, discrimination, and stigma against LGBTQI+ persons and promoting human rights and fundamental freedoms for all,” the tweet reads.

However, the Ningo Prampram lawmaker reiterated that Ghana is more committed to end gun violence anywhere and everywhere in the world.

According to the lead crusader against LGBTQI+ activities in the country, gun violence is a “senseless” activity which should be nipped in the bud to ease concerns of parents.

“Ghana is also committed to ending senseless gun violence anywhere and everywhere in the world.

“We are committed to seeing school kids go to school without their parents scared of receiving calls of a school shooting involving military grade weapons,” the MP added.
