The traditional ruler of Gomoa Dominase in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region, Okogyedom Nana Sarfo Kantanka Atta IX, has lamented the appalling conditions of the Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHIPS) compound in the area.

He noted that the facility which provides services to more than six adjoining communities is currently in a terrible state and requires prompt attention from the Ministry of Health.

Okogyedom Nana Sarfo Kantanka Atta IX, said the condition of the facility has had negative impacts on the provision of quality primary health care to the local populace.

Expressing his discomfort over the situation, the traditional ruler worried how a farming community with about 4,000 residents who produce food for the country cannot have access to quality health care services.

‘’To be completely honest, we need to make some improvements on our compound,” he added.

Again, Nana Sarfo Kantanka bemoaned that the facility’s roofing has a major leakage making it difficult to get a room to be used as restrooms

Additionally, the facility lacks medical supplies.

The traditional leader urged the government to take the aforementioned problems into consideration and help fix the plight of the residents.

Okogyedom Nana Sarfo Kantanka Atta IX made the appeal during a visit to the Gomoa Dominase Health Centre on Tuesday, June 28, 2021.

The Assembly Member for the Dominase Electoral Area, Mussloni Kwasi Bennie, indicated that he had on numerous occasions written letters to the Gomoa East District Assembly since 2020 for intervention but has proven futile.
