Rotary Club donates medical equipment to Japekrom Health Centre

Rotary Club donates medical equipment to Japekrom Health Centre

The  Rotary Club Cincinnati based in the USA, together with their counterparts in the Bono Region have donated some medical equipment to Japekrom Health Centre in the Jaman South Municipality.

The medical equipment include a BP apparatus, some scales, sunglasses among other laboratory equipment during a handing over ceremony of the leadership of the Rotary Club in Sunyani,

Madam Rose Anaba, a member of the Club, on behalf of the team appealed to the health workers to make good use of the equipment so that they will last long to serve the community.

She further assured the chiefs of Mpuasu Japekrom Traditional Council and Jaman South health director, Madam Christiana Kunadu that, this will neither be the first nor the last time they donate hence, they will receive more from them and their senior colleagues in the USA.

“I will encourage the health workers to make good use of the equipment and also maintain it so that we will be happy the next time we come here and will be encouraged to bring you more.”

Mr Asenso Kodom, who is a physician assistant for Japekrom Health Centre said, they were happy to receive these medical equipment, and used the opportunity to appeal to NGOs philanthropists to support the facility with laptop as well as an expansion of the centre.

On his part, the Paramount Chief of Mpuasu Japekrom Traditional Area, Okatakyie Amoah Aturu Konkontwea, expressed appreciation for the good work done by the Jaman South Municipal Health Director, Madam Christiana Kunadu and Bono Regional Health Director for helping them to get a health centre at Mpuasu Japekrom.

He went on to appeal to them to continue supporting them so that the health centre gets all the necessary apparatus and health workers too.

“I will thank the health workers for a good work done. Working sometimes without some apparatus or equipment needed is very difficult but you still to work. I will also advice you  to maintain or take good care of  the apparatus so that it will last longer and we would be able to get more equipment ”.
