The winners in both male and female 21-kilometre races would get GH₵10,000 each as well as various products from sponsors.

The second-placed athletes in both categories would get GH₵5,000 while the third-placed runners would get GH₵3,000 each.

Athletes who place fourth and fifth in both categories would get GH₵1,500 and GH₵1,000 respectively while runners placed 6th to 10th will get GH₵500 each.

Mr Henri Senyo Penni, General Manager of Medivents Consult–the organisers of the marathon–in an interview revealed all runners who would finish the race would get a certificate.

Mr Senyo Penni further disclosed that they have secured trips to London and South Africa for the ultimate winners of the race and would ensure that all prize obligations are fulfilled.

“We want to use the marathon to promote long-distance running and also help unearth talents. We are grateful to our sponsors for believing in our brand and we are hopeful of delivering a superb marathon come July 30,” he said.
