‘It’s almost time to be under the bright light’ – Isaac Dobge

UK-based Ghanaian boxer, Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe, has spelled out his readiness for his upcoming World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Featherweight title contender bout on Saturday, July 23, 2022, in the United State of America.

The 27-year-old orthodox boxer with a fight record of 25-2 15kos, faces American Joet De Jesus Gonzalez (27-2 15kos), at the Grand Casino Hinckley, Minnesota, the USA.

Under the strict supervision of Barry Hunter, Dogboe is confident of victory in his quest to return to the global boxing showpiece.

In a tweet, the former Super-bantamweight champion said the moment has come for him to shine under another “bright light.”

The winner between Isaac Dogboe and Joet Gonzalez will be in line to face Mexico’s Ray Vargas who currently holds the World Boxing Council (WBC) title in the division after defeating Mark Magsayo via a split decision a week ago.

Ahead of the bout, the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), in a statement has wished Isaac Dogboe the very best of luck and urged the general public to rally their support behind the boxer to come out victorious.

“The GBA is highly optimistic Isaac Dogboe will successfully win this fight which is, a fundamental step closer to becoming a two-time world champion and continuing his vision of winning many more successes in the ring.

“The GBA is by this goodwill message wishes to encourage all Ghanaians, especially the Boxing fraternity to remember Isaac Dogboe in their prayers to help him triumph in the ring on Saturday,” a statement from the GBA read.
