Bibiani Municipal Hospital lacks maternity block

Pregnant women in the Western North region have made a passionate appeal to the government to come to their aid with a maternity block at the Bibiani Municipal Hospital.

According to them, there is small space for prospective and fresh nursing mothers at the hospital which gives them much discomfort during admission.

They complained that the situation compelled them to sleep on the floor after delivery.

During a visit to the hospital by Angel News reporter, Bismark Mensah, some present pregnant women who were there for antenatal care noted that despite the lack of space in the facility, the maternity block is in a dilapidated state.

“Because there is not enough space for us and there are mosquitoes here we end up getting sick so we are pleading with the government to come to our aid,” the pregnant women said.

They have therefore appealing to the Local Government Ministry and the Bibiani Municipal Assembly to release funds to enable them put up a befitting maternity facility with enought space to accommodate many people.

“We are appealing to Non Governmental Organsisations (NGOs) and other bodies concerned with rural development to help us fund a new maternity block which would provide enough space for us,” they cried.
