The Electoral Commission Ghana has dismissed claims that its Chairperson, Madam Jean Mensah brought spiritualists to an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting to cast out demons.

This follows the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketiah’s comment on OTEC FM’s afternoon political show where he alleged that at their meeting, the EC Boss engaged in some spiritual acts including prayers to tame suspected demons at the meeting.

But in the Commission’s reaction to the comment, the Management said the claim by the NDC General Secretary is “untrue”.

“IPAC meetings are meant to discuss issues relating to Ghana’s Electoral System. This is exactly what occurs there. IPAC meetings are attended by Political Parties, Civil Society and Development Partners.”

“We state categorically that Mr Nketiah’s assertion is not true and we challenge him to prove it,” the statement issued on August 22, 2022 concluded.
