Gory crash kills medical doctor at Anwiaso

A medical doctor with the St. Francis-Xavier Hospital in Assin-Fosu in the Central Region, has died in a gory crash at Anwiaso in the Adansi Asokwa district, Ashanti Region.

The crash according to information reaching Angelonline.com.gh, occurred at about 5 pm on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.

The deceased, Dr Patrick Yamoah, a gynecologists’ cum lecturer at the Cape Coast Medical School, was travelling from Assin-Fosu towards Kumasi when the incident occurred.

His Nissan Versa car with registration number AW 1514 – 22, collided head-on with a petrol tanker with registration number GT 8679 – 22.

The tanker was travelling from Wassa Akropong heading towards Assin-Fosu.

According to eyewitnesses, the tanker driver was driving carelessly and “he nearly killed a pragyia [auto rickshaw] rider at Asokwa Junction, so we are not surprised about the accident”.

According this website’s sources, Dr Patrick Yamoah made merry with his colleague nurses after he conducted two successful surgeries earlier the same day.

He left the hospital about 3 pm for Kumasi only to be involved in the crash and die instantly.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the New Edubiase government hospital for preservation.

Meanwhile the driver of the tanker has been arrested by the Adansi Anwiaso Police Command.
