About 12 persons suspected to be land guards have been arrested by the Okyeman Land Protection Force at Yaw KↃKↃ near Nsawam in the Eastern Region

The suspects are alleged to be terrorising residents of Yaw KↃKↃ, Nsawam, and Amasaman in recent times both in the Eastern and the Greater Accra respectively.

The suspected land guards were arrested by the Okyeman Land Protection Force.

The team retrieved some offensive weapons including guns from the land guards who had pitched camp in a house at Yaw KↃKↃ for their illegal operations.

The Okyeman Akwansrahene who doubles as the leader of the Okyeman Land Protection Force, Baffour Asiedu Bekoe, confirmed the arrest and disclosed that the land guards in recent times threatened to deal with the Chief of Yaw KↃKↃ and his subjects.

He explained that the suspects upon seeing the team of the Okyeman Land Protection Force opened fire at them resulting in an exchange. He noted that it was in that process they managed to arrest the suspects although some managed to escape.

The suspects have since been handed over to the Kyebi Divisional Police Command for investigation and possible prosecution.
