GAF intercept 153 sacks of cannabis at Aflao

The Defense Intelligence Wing of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in Aflao in the Volta Region has seized 153 sacks of substances suspected to be cannabis at Wudoaba in the Ketu South municipality.

The banned substance was intercepted early dawn Thursday, September 15, 2022, upon the arrest of a Benz Cargo truck with registration number GE8404-13 loaded with the sacks.

The cannabis was intercepted by GAF at Wudoaba in the Ketu South municipality.

The suspect driver of the vehicle, Vincent Abo, aged 43 years, and his two accomplices, Ahiawo Kodzo and Seth Hefu were arrested in the process.

The suspects believed to hail from Ho reportedly loaded the goods from Kpeve and were transporting them to neighboring countries Nigeria, Benin, and Togo.

Sources say the suspects, together with the exhibits, including the vehicle will be transported to the Narcotics Control Board Headquarters in Accra for further action against them.
