Police assure of security in Wa following bizzare killings

The Ghana Police Service has assured, law and order will be maintained in the Upper West Region, specifically Wa municipality and its surrounding communities.

This follows reports that at least five individuals have gone missing under bizarre circumstances in the Wa municipality in the last five months.

But a police intelligence and investigations team in collaboration with community members on Sunday, September 18, 2022, discovered a human body in a shallow grave over the weekend at the “Napogi-ba Kolee” extension in Wa.

The body believed to be among one of the missing private security men in the area was later identified as Seidu Dakpuli who reportedly went missing on September 16, 2022.

In protesting the unexplained killings, some angry youth in the area massed up on the streets and burnt car tyres to express their displeasure over the development.

Following this, the Police administration has also assured the people of the Wa and its environs that it has taken into consideration of their security concerns and has, therefore beef up security to ensure the safety of all persons in the Metropolis.

“We wish to assure residents of the Wa Municipality and its environs that the special intelligence and investigation teams will continue to work around the clock with assistance from the affected communities to bring the perpetrators to face justice.
“Operations and combat teams have also saturated the area to ensure the safety and security at all,” the Police statement said.

The Police reiterated its pledge to the public that they will continue to work towards ensuring the safety and security of all persons across the country.
