The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has opened its portal for recruitment as part of the government’s efforts to reduce the rising rate of unemployment in the country.

The portal, which opens on Monday, September 19, 2022, will accept applications for two major modules, Community Health Workers Programme and Community Protection Assistance.

The portal for the Community Health Workers Programme will be active from 19th to 28th September with the Community Protection Assistance portal also opening from 19th September to 14th October respectively.

According to the Corporate Affairs of the YEA in a public notice, the opening of the portals is to allow for updates by existing and new applicants.

It noted that persons eligible for the applications should be between the ages of 18-35 years with a minimum qualification of Senior High School Education.

The programmes run for two years effective from the date of the applicant’s engagement.

It added “all potential beneficiaries are encouraged to apply” and warned that under no circumstances should applicants pay money to anyone because “all applications are free.”

The recruitment exercise is in line with the YEA Act 2015 (Act 887), to oversee the development, coordination, supervision, and facilitation of employment for the youth and related matters in the country.

It is in partnership with the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Health Service to recruit personnel for the two module programmes.
