Fatawu Issahaku gives Black Stars narrow win over Nicaragua
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Black Stars narrowly defeated Nicaragua in their second international friendly on Tuesday evening at the Estadio Francisco Artés Carrasco in Lorca, Spain ahead of the FIFA World Cup.

Fatawu Issahaku’s only goal was enough to give the four-time African champions a 1-0 win over the Central American side.

Tonight’s game followed the team’s 3-0 defeat to Brazil in France four days ago.

The stars after dominating the first half took the lead through a deflected thunderbolt strike from teenager Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in the 35th minute.

After recess, the Ghanaian team held unto their possession creating several chances but their efforts could not result in a goal.

It eventually ended 1-0 in favor of the black stars to record their first ever win since July 2022.

After today’s friendly, Ghana will take on Switzerland in November before the 2022 FIFA World Cup starts in Qatar.
