Tema Traditional Council bans marriage ceremonies, other outdoor events for October
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Tema Traditional Council (TTC) has banned all outdoor social events associated with noise-making effective Sunday, October 1, 2022, to Monday, October 31, 2022.

The ban on the events forms part of measures the TTC has put in place to observe the final funeral rites of the late Paramount Chief of the area, Nii Adjei Kraku II.

The late Tema Mantse died in February 2020, however, the funeral rites were suspended in compliance with the covid-19 safety protocols put in place by the government to ensure public safety.

In TTC’s statement issued, the ban is to ensure that the late Nii Adjei Kraku II receives the deserved final funeral rites.

Events affected include funerals, engagements, weddings, outdoor crusades or conventions, and other merry-making activities in the traditional area.

“The ban on these activities will be strictly enforced,” the statement said.

The ban affects Tema Manhean (Newtown), Communities One to 12, the various divisional areas including Ashaiman, Zeenu, Kubekro, Adigon, Saasabi, Adjei Kojo, Klangon, Sakumono and Adjeiman.
