Tooth decay refers to the bacteria action that occurs on the surface of the teeth. This occurs as a result of improper brushing of teeth or the continuous intake of carbohydrate (sugar and starches) that causes the bacteria in the mouth to release acids that damage the teeth. Here are some home remedies that can help cure tooth decay.

Guava leaves

These contain antimicrobial activity that help in fighting against bacteria affecting the teeth. Get fresh guava leaves then grind till they smoothen. Boil the grinded guava leaves for 5 to 10 minutes. Allow it to cool for some few minutes and fetch two tablespoons into the mouth for 10 minutes. Use this daily as a mouth wash.

Salt

Saltwater helps in healing oral wounds. Fetch half teaspoon of stone salt into warm water, stir till it dilutes. Fill the mouth with the warm salt water for 3 minutes. Do these two or three times daily after meals.

Cassava peels

Get a tuber of cassava then peel off its skin into a bowl. Wash properly with clean water like 3 times then put it into a saucepan and fill with water. Cover the saucepan then put on fire to boil for 15 to 20 minutes then leave it to cool. Fetch 3 tablespoons of water into the mouth for 5 minutes. Apply this twice daily.
