We believe in you, make us proud – Education Minister to BECE candidates

The Minister of Education has sent a goodwill message to the 552,276 candidates from 18,501 schools writing the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) across the country.

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum said successive governments and guardians’ have invested significantly in the future of the candidate’s education hence they should take due opportunity and make it count.

He thus wished all candidates success in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations and urged them to “make us proud.”

“For the past nine (9) years of your education, your parents, teachers, and Government have invested significantly in your education and now is the time for you to finish well and excel.

“The President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo believes in you. This is why he has made key investments in your future by ensuring that all successful candidates who qualify for placement in any of our public senior high or technical and vocational schools will benefit from the Government’s Free Senior High School (SHS) or Free Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).”

This was conveyed in a goodwill message to the candidates by the Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adwutum on behalf of the Ministry of Education and the good people of Ghana.

Dr. Yaw Adutwum was confident that all candidates, invigilators, supervisors, school authorities and teachers will heed to all rules and regulations regarding this exam.

He indicated that the Ministry is working with the Ghana Education Service, West African Examination Council and the Security Services to “safeguard all the 2,023 designated centres across the country.”

At least 552,276 candidates from 18,501 schools are sitting for this year’s Examination starting from Monday 17th October to Friday 21st October.
