The Assin Fosu District Court presided over by His Worship Abdul Majid Illiasu has granted bail to an accused whose girlfriend was found dead in his room at Rail Station in Assin Fosu.

The accused Kwabena Sika, 42, who pleaded guilty to the offense of hindrance of inquest was granted bail of GH¢10,000 with two sureties.

The case was, however, adjourned to November 10, 2022.

This follows a plead by the prosecution, Chief Inspector Gilbert Ayongo to the court to give the police ample time to complete the investigation.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased, Jordan Aboagyewaa, pleaded the case be settled out of court on the premises of intensive financial challenges as such they are unable to afford the cost of the autopsy.

The court however declined the out-of-court settlement application filed by the deceased family.

The accused who hails from Hamile near Jirapa in the Lambussie Karni District of the Upper West Region has earlier told the court he is known in Assin Fosu as Kwabena Sika but today confessed Sam Tierna as his real name to the court.
