Bekwai Circuit Court convicts four for riots at NDC constituency elections

The four has been convicted for destroying chairs and other properties belonging to the Nana Abu Bonsra Primary School, which was the venue for the NDC Adansi constituency elections.

The Bekwai Circuit Court has convicted the four suspects who were arrested in connection with the disturbances that occurred during the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency elections in Adansi North.

The suspects were arrested Sunday, October 23, 2022, following their alleged involvement in the disturbances that crept the constituency election of the area on Saturday, October 22.

Whiles counting the ballots on the faithful day, the suspects destroyed chairs and other properties belonging to the Nana Abu Bonsra Primary School where the election was held.

The four, Adjei Evans, Kingord Anku, Francis Amoah and Akwesi Aquah, have also been fined GHC6,000 each or serve three months imprisonment in default by the court, Tuesday, October 25.

The four destroyed chairs and other properties belonging to the Nana Abu Bonsra Primary School, which was the venue for the elections while the ballot was being counted.
