The Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency, Francis-Xavier Sosu, has denied ever been arrested by the police as reported for an alleged offence of reckless and inconsiderate driving.

He rubbished the reportage and described the reports making rounds as inaccurate.

It was reported that the lawmaker was arrested on Thursday November 3, 2022, for driving carelessly in the middle of the road around Airport in the Greater Accra Region.

According to the reports his vehicle was impounded by the police and was charged to appear in court to be put through the due process of the law.
Francis-Xavier Sosu, however, says the speculations are not entirely accurate because he has not been arrested neither has, he been under arrest.
According to the legal practitioner, he was only “cited for traffic offences” on the said Thursday, November 3, 2022, on my way from parliament to an event in the Constituency.
He indicated that he was at the La Court Friday, morning, November 4, to have the matter dealt with.
He added “I am currently in Parliament performing my parliamentary duties. Again, I am not under arrest.”
The MP insinuated that the news of his arrest seems more important to the Ghana Police Service than their core mandate.
“For instance, how many persons were cited for traffic Offences yesterday? How many of them are in the news? Please, let’s get serious as a country” Francis-Xavier Sosu fumed.
