A two-week old baby has been found in a public toilet at Gomoa Potsin Junction in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
Mother of the child allegedly dumped the two-week old baby in the early hours of Tuesday.
An eye witness speaking in an interview with Angel news reporter, Opanyin Darko, narrated that, he went to ease himself and heard cries of a baby.
“As soon as I went in, I heard cries emanating from the toilet. Because the facility is two, initially I thought a mother might be occupying the adjacent one while carrying her baby but after knocking I heard no response. I went back and heard the cries again and later discovered the child lying in the toilet”, he narrated.
The eyewitness added that “I called for help and some people assisted me to remove the baby. With a little help we washed the faecal matter off the baby and rushed to the hospital. Fortunately he was still alive.”
At the Gomoa Potsin Polyclinic, it was confirmed to Angel News that the baby is responding to treatment.
