Former Member of Parliament for Tema East, Daniel Titus Glover has suggested that the Ayew brothers, Andre Ayew and Jordan Ayew be benched in Ghana’s FIFA World Cup group opener against Portugal.

According to the former MP, the duo should not be handed a starting spot in the team’s first match although he prefers Dede Ayew features as a substitute.

Mr. Glover while sharing his thought ahead of the match on Accra-based TV3, said despite having a strong conviction that Ghana will beat the European giant, coach Otto Addo must oblige to his suggestion to enable the team to present a formidable squad.

“I will not give any figure; our boys will win. I would have loved Jordan to be on the bench and Dede must come in as a substitute at least 15, 20 minutes to time,” he stated.

Despite suggestion that Dede Ayew starts the game from the bench he was quick to add that “I love that gentleman, I like his encouragement and his leadership, the way he motivates.”

Ghana plays Portugal in their first game on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at the 974 Stadium in Doha.
