Reverend Kwadwo Boateng Bempah of the Holy Hill Assemblies of God Church has advised Christians to stay away from giving to the poor what is deemed God.

According to the Man of God, Christians must be discerning in their attempts of being generous to the needy because not all poor persons deserve the mercy of others.

The man of God buttressed his point that nobody knows why some people are poor and such people could be in their current predicament because of their own doing.

Rev. Bempah, who is a senior pastor of the Holy Hill Assemblies of God Church emphasised this in his sermon to his congregation.

“Even what belongs to God we don’t give to the poor because the reason why they are poor nobody knows, it is not every poor person you have mercy upon, some of them are going through the punishment of satan and others, and that is why sometimes when giving to the poor you need discernment,” he stated.

To this effect, he urged Christians to be vigilant of whom they help since one requires the spirit of discernment before providing voluntary assistance.
