Some parts of Accra have reported experiencing earth tremors on Monday, December 12, 2022.

Some residents living within McCarthy hill, Mallam, Gbawe, Adabraka and Kasoa all said they felt the mini earthquakes in their vicinities.
The most recent past Earth Tremor that happened in Accra happened on 24th June, 2020 during the Covid lockdown when the “by June dier na obiaa awu” song by the Ghana pallbearers was trending. It wasn’t an easy day. 😂 pic.twitter.com/v9sxdSQ2jO

The Principal Seismologist at the Ghana Geological Survey Authority (GGSA), Nicholas Opoku has urged Ghanaians not to be worried about the latest earth tremor. He said Accra will continue to experience such tremors from time to time.
“This is not a new thing we have been experiencing this from time to time…even the most recent ones were in 2018, 2019 and 2020. What we have been saying all this while is that Accra is situated in the earthquake-prone zones so from time to we will be experiencing these minor earthquakes until such a time that a major will happen”, he said in an interview with Citinews.
