The Ghana Education Service (GES) has postponed the third term vacation of public basic schools to Friday, December 16, 2022.

This was indicated in a directive from the GES Management to all Regional Directors of Education on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.

The public basic schools were supposed to vacate on Thursday, December 15 but have been denied by a day for examination purposes.

The Management said the decision is “to enable the Primary Four (P4) pupils to write the National Standardised Test on Friday, 16th December 2022”.

Despite the extension of their day in school, the reopening date for the pupils still stands on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

The letter by the Director of the Division of Schools and Instructions of GES, Patty Assan added however that “by this letter, Regional Directors are kindly requested to communicate this information to the Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to inform all Heads of Basic Schools to take note and act accordingly.”
