A former national organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Yaw Boateng Gyan, says members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) should stop meddling in the affairs of the opposition party.

According to him, the internal affairs of the opposition party is not the business of the NPP.

He gave the caution while commenting on the internal political turmoil that ensued among some members of the NDC during the national delegates congress held on December 10 and December 17 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium and the Accra Sports Stadium respectively.

Following the most anticipated contest between newly elected chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and defeated chair Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, generated tension where the former was captured on tape saying the NDC went to the supreme court to challenge the 2020 general election without its collated figures.

In an affirmative response on the Anopa Bofo morning show, Monday, December 19, 2022, on whether the NPP would use that against the NDC in 2024, Yaw Boateng Gyan said the NDC cares not whatsoever propaganda the NPP would do.

He was of the view the most important thing for the NPP is focusing on giving Ghanaians good governance and not chipping into the affairs others.

“Whether they would use it against us or not, that’s not what Ghanaians are expecting. They should rather be focused on good governance for us to be comfortable in the country. That is the most important thing but not what is happening internally in our party,” he told Nana Yaa Brefo.

He thus challenged the NPP to be awakened from their non-performing administration to ensure they rescue Ghanaians from the hardship inflicted on the people.

To Mr. Gyan, the NDC, would forgo their difference after the internal election to regroup themselves and recapture power from the NPP in 2024.
