The Ghana Education Service (GES) has confirmed Dr Eric Nkansah as the new Director General of the Service.
In a statement dated Wednesday, January 4, the Service said “Management wishes to inform you that Dr Eric Nkansah, Ag. Director-General, has officially been confirmed as the Director-General of the Service.”
The confirmation was communicated to all regional directors of education and copied to the Deputy Director–Generals, all Divisional Directors as well as District Directors of Education.
According to GES, “in effect, all correspondence and memoranda should be addressed as such.”
The Acting Director of Human Resource, Angela Frimpomaa Nkansah, who signed the statement also congratulated Dr. Nkansah.
“Congratulations to Dr Eric Nkansah, Director-General, Ghana Education Service,” she added.
Dr Nkansah replaced Professor Kwasi Opoku-Amankwah as Ag. Director General on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
However, his appointment was greeted with controversies which resulted in the major teacher unions embarking on strike.
