Black Stars forward, Inaki Williams, has been adjudged African Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the mid-season 2022/23 ongoing LaLiga season.
The 28-year-old Athletico Bilbao talisman beat off contest from fellow countrymen Joseph Aidoo, Baba Iddrisu, Abdul Mumin, Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze, Morocco’s Youssef En-Nesyri, Franck Kessié of Cote D’Ivoire and Ilaix Moriba of Guinea among other African players.
The award is aimed at recognising the most outstanding African player in the Spain’s topflight football in the first half of the season.
Inaki Williams had scored five goals and one assist in 18 appearances for the Basque club in the ongoing season.
He currently holds the record for most consecutive games played in La Liga, featuring in 251 straight games before missed Bilbao’s 1-0 lost to Celta Vigo last weekend.
