Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko captain, Felix Annan, has revealed that he once brought the team supporters together while at the club following a division that ensued amongst the fanbase.

According to the former skipper, whiles ending his stay with the Kumasi-based club he realised there was some division among the supporters after he had lost his position.

The Former WAFA goalkeeper at the porcupine warriors lost his number 1 spot to his fellow goalkeeper Kwame Baah after he tied the knot with his long-time girlfriend in the middle of the 2019/2020 football season in January 2020.

Speaking on Angel FM Floodlight sports show, Felix Annan explained that since he had the backing of some fans, they called for his return to the post while others thought otherwise, and led to division among the fans.

But he noted that by acting swiftly and intervening, he resolved the problem and unified them.

He added that in football, “Clubs protect their players and I feel I was not protected because clubs like Manchester united will not do this to David de Gea”.

Despise those circumstances, Felix Annan indicated further that Kumasi Asante Kotoko is very dear to his heart and believed he gave his quota to the club, although it was not time for him to leave.

Touching on players’ salaries, in the Ghana Premier League, he suggested that minimum wages in the league should be at least one thousand dollars (US$1000) to reduce players’ move from the topflight league.

“This wage will be manageable, but elsewhere taxes will be deducted, and I know it will be very difficult to implement it here,” he said.
