A suspected mobile phones thief believed to be in his 30s on Monday, February 13, 2023, escaped lynching after he allegedly stole a mobile phone at Gomoa Akwamu in the Gomoa Central District of the Central region.
The suspects who was seconds from meeting his untimely death from the irate youth, is reported to have stolen the mobile phone from a native doctor’s house on Monday.
According to reports, his action infuriated the youth who grabbed him and tied him up with rope on a concrete pillar and gave him severe beatings.
The suspect whose name is unknown per reports, was spotted stealing the mobile phone and unspecified amount of money said to belong to accident victims who were receiving herbal treatment from a native doctor in Gomoa Akwamu.
He was, however, saved from being lynched after the intervention of Agona Swedru District Police Command, who swiftly arrived at the scene and rushed him to the hospital for treatment.
