The demise of the founder and general overseer of Resurrection Power New Generation Church, Reverend Anthony Kwadwo Boakye, was a circumstance of sudden illness, a formal communication from his legal counsel has announced.
In the statement addressed to the rank and file of the church and copied to the media, Alexander K.K. Abban, Esquire, said the pastor’s death occurred at the Cardiothoracic Centre of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital “around 2:00 am on Tuesday 21st February 2023.”
Giving an account of circumstances leading to the death of the pastor, the legal counsel said he was preparing to travel abroad to seek further medical attention following his battles with stroke when the unfortunate incident occurred.
“On 31st January 2023, his family was compelled to take him back to the hospital when he complained of sharp pains in his left leg. It was detected that blood circulation to his left leg was not the best and that there was the need to fly him out of the country to seek further medical care and if necessary, undergo a surgical operation.
“Reparations were underway to make that journey when he was suddenly taken ill and was rushed to the Cardiothoracic Centre at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. Unfortunately, he gave up the ghost around 2:00 am on Tuesday 21st February 2023.”
