The legal counsel to President Akufo-Addo, Kow Essuman, has chastised former president John Dramani Mahama for his yet-to-be-launched campaign message dubbed “Building the Ghana we want together”.

Mr. Essuman believes the former president’s choice for “Building the Ghana we want together,” as his campaign message ahead of his bid to lead the opposition National Democratic Congress in 2024 is nothing new to Ghanaians.

According to the legal counsel, the latters message amounts to a copycat of the current government’s ‘BuildingGhanaTogether’ campaign.

He made this known in a tweet after John Dramani Mahama had publicized on his Facebook Wall on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, about the official launch of his bid to lead the NDC at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in the Volta Region on Thursday, March 2.

“Fellow countrymen and women, I will on Thursday March 02, 2023 launch my bid to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the 2024 elections at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Sokode near Ho.

“I invite you to either join me in the Cedi Auditorium at UHAS or watch a livestream of the launch on my Facebook page or YouTube channel from 9.00am,” Mr. Mahama added.

Followed by a tweet that quoted Oscar Wilde, Kow Essuman indicated that Mahama’s imitation was sincere form of flattery to the government’s successful initiative.

“Fmr Prez @JDMahama has begun his campaign dubbed “Building the Ghana we want Together”, undoubtedly copying Government’s #BuildingGhanaTogether campaign. As Oscar Wilde puts it, “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness. Interesting times,” he insinuated.
