Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN) has appointed Vincent Opare as the company’s acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to steer its affairs.

The newly-appointed acting CEO was unveiled Friday, March 17, 2023, at the company’s corporate office within the Airport enclave in Accra following a meeting.

The meeting was graced by senior staff, heads of departments and management of various stations under the brand as well as Mr. Philip Ofori Asante, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Angel Group of Companies.

He replaces immediate-past CEO, Samuel Kofi Acheampong who currently heads Angel FM, Kumasi as the General Manager.

According to Founder and President of the Angel Group of Companies, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, the decision to change leadership at the executive level stems from the resolve by the Board of Directors, to chart a new direction for the brand to compete and maintain its standard in the media space in the country.

Dr. Oteng said part of the new direction, the Board has also appointed former Marketing Manager, Patrick Bismark Mensah, as Director of Operations, ABN.

Addressing the gathering in his acceptance speech, the newly-named CEO expressed his gratitude to the Board of Directors as well as Founder and President, for reposing trust in him.

He noted that the company seeks to move away from a platform of promoting products of the Adonko products to a more robust and sustainable profit center to justify investment made by the owner of the firm.

“Our goal is to improve on our systems and processes for positive returns on the investment,” Mr Opare noted and further challenged employees to work harder to see the growth of the company because no investor invests heavily without expecting returns.

He highlighted plans to “review operation of system to making it more robust for income generation, cutting down on waste amidst reducing cost to acceptable levels, and improving on working conditions to bring out the best in talent hired”.

Mr. Opare who, until his appointment ,was the Marketing Director of Adonko Company Limited, a subsidiary under the Angel Group, called for support and teamwork from colleagues staff, since their extended hands would be significant to achieving the set goals and the company’s vision and mission at large.

Angel Broadcasting Network owned by business mogul and entrepreneur, Dr. Kwaku Oteng, is the mother operates over 20 stations including two television networks and 19 radio stations spread across the 16 regions of the country as well as two online portals Angelonline.com.gh and Purefmonline.com.
