Black Stars new coach, Chris Hughton, has signed a contract to coach the senior national team until December 31, 2024, subject to renewal based on his performance.

Details of his contract were revealed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) during his unveiling at SG Mall in Kumasi Monday, March 20, 2023. It followed his appointment in last February.

His assistant coaches, George Boateng and Didi Dramani also have contracts similar to that with the Ghana Football Association.

Communications Director of the GFA, Henry Asante Twum noted: “For the first time, the head coach and his two assistants will have their contracts running concurrently. What it means is that Chris Hughton and his two assistants have both signed the same contracts which will run until December 31, 2024.

“The two parties have agreed that the terms of these contracts shall be subject to a performance review,” the added.

Born in the United Kingdom to a Ghanaian father and an Irish mother, Hughton previously managed Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Norwich, Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest.
