Kumasi Asante Kotoko has indefinitely suspended winger Joseph Amoako for his alleged involvement in a leaked audio on social media which the club described as a “misconduct.”
In the supposed audio clip, the player is heard expressing his displeasure at the team’s supporters criticising the players’ performance in their recent game.
According to a statement from the club, the 20-year-old is suspended indefinitely pending final determination of punishment to be meted out at him by the club’s disciplinary procedures.
“Joseph Amoako, 20, has been suspended indefinitely pending a final determination through the club’s disciplinary procedures. This is due to his misconduct on social media which the club finds unacceptable,” the statement reads.
The former Helsingborgs IF player could likely miss the club’s remaining four matches of the season as the season nears its completion.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko occupies 6th position on the ongoing 2022/23 Ghana Premier League campaign with 44 points after 30 matches.
