The Minority in Parliament has again boycotted parliamentary proceedings over the Gyakye Quayson trial.
The NDC MPs earlier served notice of its intention to always follow the Assin North MP to court whenever his case is called.
The embattled MP is undergoing trial at the High Court in Accra on charges of forgery and perjury.
The High Court has slated today, July 11 to deliver a ruling on the application for a stay of proceedings filed by lawyers of Gyakye Quayson.
The NDC MPs in a show of solidarity have taken a stance to abstain from Parliament when Gyakye Quayson appears in court for his ongoing criminal case.
This decision aims to protest what the Minority perceives as persistent persecution against Mr Quayson.
“We wish to serve notice that the entire Minority will accompany our colleague today and any other days that he is to appear in court. We are solidarising with our colleague and we will not participate in the business of the House anytime our colleague is in court and we will be withdrawing from the Chamber after this ceremony if the court processes happen today,” Minority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson stated during the swearing-in of Gyakye Quayson.
