Busia for democracy

Dear Dad,
I am sorely disheartened by a mismanaged and bankrupt Ghana led by H.E. Akufo Addo “Corruptionocracy” of the Akyems, by the Akyems and for the Akyems and their dubious NPP beneficiaries who have strenuously attached your name and image to their current NPP shameless autocratic misgovernance, in a classic betrayal.

They do not understand that your blood speaks through me, that your legendary spirit of humility and dedicated selfless service, is not at peace with their impudent and arrogant misrule.

I fail to see the honour in their lip-service to your legacy without genuine substantive engagament to your ethical, common humanity and nation – building ideals.

Certainly, the H.E. J. A Kufour led gathering that will discuss your Continuing Relevance in a corner of the dubbed “Waa Waa hotel” on this your would be 110th birthday, today, 11th July 2023 , to placate their own egos would be a consequential anomaly.

Surely, dear Dad, I have direct knowledge of the National Security betrayal of Ghana that occured in the secret vaults of the Kufour Administration and the sheer wickedness that resulted in the sacrificial untimely death of your son, my brother Nana Gyasi Busia over documents in his custody necessary for their cover – up, which occurred when I was Legal Counsel to National Security with small arms control as part of my portfolio.

There is definately no Busia respite in any choking needless fake tears that will be shed on your behalf today by NPP’s secretive evil forces.

Dear Dad, I know first hand the national security compromise of HE. Akufo – Addo as Foreign Minister with Francis Poku’s hocus Pocus national security just so he could become President at all cost, it didn’t matter if Ghana became prey to armed insurrection!

I do know about the political disservice that is wreaked by key politicians and family allies who seek to package you into a corner and have monopoly over you, ‘ie.the Busia image capture’ for national benefits they can Seize. I know them Dad, your so called wolves in sheep clothing self -ordained protèges without your approval. I am not impressed by their public K.A. Busia charade as needed for whatever political gain that can be Squeezed.

Damirifa Due dear dad, I posit without equivocation, that any proper, contextual re-appraisal of your bold instructive role in pre- independent Ghana, your bullish stance for afrocentric not euro centric democracy, your sincere and strategic policies in governance viewed objectively vindicate you.

This is in spite of naysayers who distort your historic record and deliberately falsify facts. Thanks to an NPP that has made you a soft target in a Ghana that is today owned and controlled by foreign interests; a self destructive galamsey nation that operates without ideational scruples with a huge non productive civil / public service that swallows up its revenue streams while living on borrowed funds. This is not the Ghana that you worked towards and hoped for.

What indeed is the financial sense of a Ghana that misunderstood devaluation of the cedi, applauded yentua, now come full cirle in 2023 still in abject shameful debt under IMF colonial patronage yet full of dust throwing “we have the men fluff”. What has this got to do with K.A.Busia 45 years after your death.

Dear Dad, let me posit on a happy unequivocal note that Your Ideational Intellect and continental AFRICANIST mindset is still evident in your own eloquent voice for posterity ; you are your own best advocate. You do not need re-invention. You left blueprints dedicated to the continent of Africa’s eternal youth, in ideals, values and principles which still speak for a better socio-polical and economically emancipated Africa.

On this note it is noteworthy and a gratifying time honored hallmark of your 110th birthday that on May 8, 2023 Routledge Released a 3 voume set titled “K. A. BUSIA ON AFRICA” comprising: 1.The Challenge of Africa, 2. Africa in Search of Democracy & 3.PURPOSEFUL Education for Africa”, all duly written in exile to “contemplate an Africa undergoing rapid social change… Together they act as testimony …to the centrality of TRADITIONAL African IDeologies & Practices to comprehend the influence of Native institutions and systems of thought on the modern state and reflect their role in creating a healthy democratic environment. The principles K. A. Busia taught as a sociologist and scholar continue to live on in the influences he made in African Studies in particular to the extent that his name became a SHORTHAND for the establishment of free Democratic traditions in Ghana today” .

Thank you Yesu.” s3 Mo nyi no ay3 a, Enma mo nsei ni din”. How on earth can K.A. Busia be a western stooge traitor? Please do not attempt to destroy the crendentials of a divinely blessed Kofi Busia who through inordinate suffering, nonetheless served his nation and continent well to international acclaim.

Dear Dad, what would indeed honour your contemporary relevance, is, an inspirational and inclusive NPP good governance in a fast developing and flourishing Ghana, not a recalcitrant NPP with a lost leadership that runs the economy aground and refuses to cut the size of a government with a monstrous belly that is drowning the nation with not much to show for false promises with which they bought their way to power.

Dear Dad, The selfish gang of “all die be die” misleaders who recently sent armed uniformed police thugs to rattle me at my residence with pointed guns do not know your heart for Ghana the way I do, they do not understand your *implacable essence that is my being, they are certainly clueless about selfless patriotism

I am minded to inquire, How does H. E. Akufo Addo and his nation wrecking bunch, perched high on their misguided jubilee House rafters, with control power levers in a floundering Ghana in economic tatters honor a Busia milieu?

Dear Dad , I am certainly thankful for well meaning truely loyal Busiast who love you and appreciate your distinguished legacy, those whose good faith is banished to the edges of the NPP and are unable to make their input felt on a national scale because they care not for nefarious deals in a supposed UP tradtion that has been ambushed by non UP elements.

Indeed, what is the point of the discussion of your relevance 45 years after your death by a so called Busia institute led by Anane Agyei commercialising your legacy while contemptous of consultative processes as integral to democratic governance with an institute that has tagged your name on a thin intellectual tailcoat, oblivious of what you stood stallwart and risked your life in Ghana’s opposition leading up to independence for. Your mission was to caution, to offer reasoned, objective alternatives on a time tested cultural principle of ” Tikoro nko Agyina ” as a foundational precept. As opined by Routledge, You were a man of Thought, forced by Circumtances to be A man of Action”. On what stilted grounds does Anane Agyei derive validity as a Busia spokesperson when he and his sponsors so palpably misunderstand what you stood for ?

Dear dad, isnt it interesting that a hypocritical President Akufo Addo, a veritable Danquaist by blood and inclination, in a desperate search for undeserving accolades was recently seen inaugurating a refurbished Nkrumah Mausoleum to rub false shoulders with the grandiose Osagyefo stature!

I wonder what the Osagyefo Dr. Nkrumah would think of this rumoured expensive refurbishment by a broke Ghana when his Tema Oil Refinery ” TOR” for instance has been rendered non- functional and about to be cannibalised by a clueless Torrentco Asset management fronting an insanity grab under Akufo Addo watch, but I digress.

Dear Dad, On this your 110th birth anniversary, your solid soothing voice is not dimmed. K.A Busia on Africa revisited above has clarity about the Africa you envisaged in your own words as evident in the legal concept of ” Res IPsa loquitor” . ie. The matter speaks for itself.

Dear Dad , I end this letter by wishing Ghana, socio- political and economic enlightenment as well as mental freedom. I hope patriotism will be revived and the bubbling angry discontent that is so evident in our body politic will not overun and disrupt our Peaceful façade.

Accept my Eternal Salute Papa
Your Ever Loving Daughter
