2024 Flagbearer aspirant, Akwasi Addae, also known as Odike has called on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to stop lamenting about the state of the country’s economy.

President Akufo-Addo after casting his ballot in the NPP super delegates conference openly acknowledged the undeniable reality of the economic crisis in the country.

He took note of the grievances expressed by the citizens concerning the hardships they are currently encountering and conveyed his optimism that the party would be able to designate a new leader who possesses the capability to navigate the nation through these difficulties.

“It’s difficult, I’m the first to admit it. I have said it several times, but at the end of the day I believe when the moment comes, the light will reflect on a new person to get us out of this difficulty,” he said.

Commenting on this statement by the President on Angel Morning Show on 28th August, 2023, Mr Odike said he was shocked the President lamented over the country’s problems insisting that he did not show true leadership with those comments.
“We didn’t vote for him [Nana Addo] to identify hardship, we never queued to vote because of this reason. We never vote for leaders to identify problems and come and report them to us…if that is the case, why did he we vote for him…?,” he asked host Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah.
He therefore challenged President Akufo-Addo to find lasting solutions to the problems he is lamenting about.
“He should find solutions to the problems other lamenting over them because that is why we voted for him…,” he said.
