Gov’t committed to reducing housing deficit in urban areas – Frema Opare

The Chief of Staff, Freema Opare, assured Ghanaians of governments commitment to address the housing deficit in the country, most especially at urban areas.

According to her it would be done through good investments partnership to provide affordable housing which has become a priority of the agenda for the government of the day to meet the demands of the public.

Madam Frema Opare made the pronouncement on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in Accra – Ridge, at the Africa Trade House, during the official launch of the Chartered Institute Realtors (CIR).

She said, “as a government committed to the wellbeing of our people, and the provision of decent housing facility for all, we cannot turn the blind eye to the huge housing deficit but to act and act properly.”

Touching on the operation of the Chartered Institute Realtors in the country, the Chief of Staff said the government was grateful to welcome the newly institute real estate agency in Ghana.

In her view, the launch serves as a useful additional government effort towards enhancing safe and sound professional real estate practice in Ghana.

She indicated the ruling government would rally their effort and support to CIR in every capacity to ensure they fulfill their vision of establishing a professional body of realtors and been a prime institution for real estate education for globally and Ghana.

The establishment of the Chartered Institute of Realtors aims to provide opportunities for real estate industry practitioners to enhance their knowledge, skills, standards, and experiences to meet global benchmarks.

As part of the vision and mission of the launch of the Chartered Institute of Realtors (CIR), the institute will be engaging in a progressive series of seminars and workshops that will see the involvement of seasoned speakers, lecturers, and industry professionals from acclaimed institutions worldwide bringing their knowledge and experience to bear.

The institute intends to, in the foreseeable future, establish itself as a professional body providing education and training courses to its members.
