Maxwell Arthur joins Karela United after Dreams FC exit

Former Dreams FC skipper, Maxwell Arthur, has signed for Ghana Premier League side Karela United after leaving the “still believe” club.

He completed the move to the fellow Ghana Premier League side on a free transfer.

According to Angel Sports’s Shadrack Essien, the defender cum midfielder signed a two-year contract with the Western Region-based club.

His move was completed officially on Monday, August 28, 2023, after fruitful negotiations with Karela United.

The player, in Angelonline.com.gh’s earlier publication in June announced his departure from the Ghanaian FA Cup champions on mutual consent after six years of services.

“It is with mixed emotions that I announce my departure from the club after six wonderful years. I have reached a mutual agreement with the club to terminate my contract and pursue a new challenge in my career.

“I want to thank everyone who has been part of this amazing journey with me. l have learned so much from you all and I have grown as a player and as a person,” he stated as announced.

Having been inactive for almost two months, Maxwell Arthur has now found a team in Karela United after several clubs both locally and internationally showed interest in him.

The former Dreams FC long-serving captain would soon join his colleagues at camp in Tamale where the team’s pre-season training ahead of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season is underway.

Maxwell Arthur, who spent six years before leaving Dreams FC graduated from the team’s youth side to the senior team in the 2016/17 season.

He went ahead to become one of the club’s instrumental players after he made his senior debut on June 29, in a 2-0 win against New Edubiase United in the Ghana Premier League.
