‘Ken Agyapong won’t resign from NPP even if he loses flagbearer bid’ – Spokesperson

Spokesperson for the campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Lawyer Amoh Dartey, has stated that his candidate does not intend to resign from the party even if he loses the November 4, primaries.

Speaking on Angel Morning Show on Thursday, 28th September, 2023, Lawyer Dartey said Kennedy Agyapong has never considered resigning from the NPP if the November 4, 2023 presidential primaries does not go his way.

“Kennedy Agyapong will not resign from the NPP, he would rather fight for what he believes in and that is what makes him unique and the ideal candidate to lead NPP…,” he told host, Yaa Kyeraa.

The Assin Central MP has been tipped to be the next person to resign from the NPP and form his own political party after the November 4 presidential primary. Alan Kyeremanten who was a candidate in the race resigned from the party this week and has decided to go independent.

“Most of the reasons offered by Alan for resigning from the NPP are what led Kennedy Agyapong to proclaim that he would give Bawumia and Akufo-Addo a showdown if they dare try it on him…,” he said.

Lawyer Dartey further claimed that the brand Kennedy Agyapong has become very attractive to Ghanaians to the extent that ‘even Ghanaians in the diaspora are prepared to come home and vote for Ken Agyapong when he is elected NPP flagbearer.’

He therefore called on delegates of the NPP to be resolute in their choice as the man they are supporting is bold and ever willing to die for what he believes in.

“A man must be bold…delegates should be rest assured that no one can remove their names from the voting album as some are threatening.

“If Ghanaians are willing to cooperate with us, we are looking forward to using their strength, knowledge and wisdom to fulfil all Kennedy Agyapong’s good works,” he added.
