New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communicator, Kofi Tonto has condemned comments by the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia that is ripe for a coup d’etat.

Speaking on Angel Morning Show, on Thursday, October 5, 2023, Kofi Tonto said coup d’état cannot solve the current problems facing Ghanaians as according to him, the coup d’états that happened in most African countries especially in Ghana has brought nothing beneficial to the country.

“Someone should show me one benefit one had from coup d’état as a country? Has the problems of the country been taken away after the coup? Coup rather increases the problem more after it happens,” he told Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah.

He added that, coup d’états rather deprive individuals from enjoying their rights and freedom.

“Coups also impoverish the people in a country,” he added.

To him, the National Chairman of the NDC would have done a lot of good to the country if he had during an exclusive interview on Angel Morning Show preached the policies of the party ahead of the 2024 elections.
